George is a good example of a man who tried to follow The American Dream. He wanted a farm, his own land and a lot of animals like pigs, a cow, rabbits, chickens and alfalfa to feed them with. Then he started working on a ranch with his friend Lennie, because he thought that would help him to get his own farm. It did not work out as he hoped, as a result they were kicked out. In the end George had tried everything to follow The American Dream, but he ended on the same place that he started. This was also the life for many people at that time.
